New Fuzz and Carrie Album, “Maple Hill Sessions, Vol 1″ Out Now!

Fuzz and Carrie: "Maple Hill Sessions, Vol 1"

New Album, “Maple Hill Sessions, Vol 1“, available now on: iTunesAmazonSpotify and many more places…

You can give a listen using the music player on our new Facebook Page!

The brand new album from Fuzz and Carrie titled “Maple Hill Sessions, Vol 1” features acoustic duets inspired by the intimate live moments, singing around a single microphone during their Caravan of Thieves shows. Songs such as “I Get Sad” and “Sweeter” which have become staples in their show have finally been captured during a very private, self produced/engineered recording session in a friend’s barn with just Fuzz, Carrie, a Telefunken 251 mic and a couple of acoustic guitars. During the sessions they also recorded a few brand new pieces such as the light hearted opening track “Crazy” and the emotional “Poison” as well as its counterpart “Roses/Poison”, a mash-up with the recent hit single “Roses” by the Chainsmoker’s. The EP closes out with an atmospheric piece they revived from their pre Caravan of Thieves days titled “You Fell Down”. After seeing the potential of the tracks, they brought the recordings to long time friend/engineer (who also mixed their Bouquet album in 2008), Brendan Muldowney, for a mix session at the Carriage House in Stamford, CT. Jeff Lipton and Maria Rice at Peerless Mastering (who mastered their Kiss Kiss album) put the finishing touches on the EP.

We hope you all enjoy it, it was a pleasure to create. More news, videos, shows and music on the way… stay tuned!

Sincerely,
Fuzz and Carrie

Full Spring Ahead

Greetings Dearest Freaky Family,

In light of spring being upon us, we’ve implemented our usual, astute touring strategy and tossed a few darts to the map… resulting in a list of a few select cities to play in over the next few months. So as always, you are cordially invited to the show.

We thank all you freaks who joined us on our winter tour. It was one of the most fun and successful runs we’ve had in a while… new musical guests, new jams and even a heartfelt moment or two. If you missed it, here’s a couple of clips from Valentine’s Day in Ann Arbor, MI:

“Shim Sham”

“In a Sentimental Mood”

There will be more summer concerts and fests added soon, so continue to check back with us and our tour dates page. For now, peruse the list of upcoming shows, grab a ticket and we’ll see you out and about this spring/summer!

Yours truly,
Fuzz and Carrie

Kiss Kiss the Winter Away – US Tour 2016

Greetings Dearest Freaky Family,

As we pack up the last of our instruments, pots, pans, albums and fuzzy slippers, we get that excited, slightly nervous feeling one gets when they are about to ride the Cyclone at Coney Island… Or go on tour across the country for several weeks. For us, it’s the latter. But mostly excited because we are visiting some places we’ve never been to as well as some familiar stomping grounds… and all are towns we’ve managed to miss since we released our latest album Kiss Kiss in the spring of last year. So we are eager to present our new material, new kitchenware and new friends… Rich (double bass) and Nicole (violin) will be joining us on this tour as well as a few surprise guests TBA. Check out the schedule, grab a ticket or ten, and hopefully we are in your vicinity so you can join us on this big musical joy ride coming up!

For now, here’s a taste of some new jams recorded live at WFUV in NYC a couple of weeks ago.

Yours Truly,
Fuzz and Carrie

Holiday Cheer and a Freaky New Year

Dearest Family of Freaks,

We’d like to wish everyone a joyful, peaceful holiday season, take a moment to reflect on the past year, and gaze ahead towards opportunity for change. Here in the Caravan it’s been an eventful year of album releasing (Kiss Kiss), touring through the states and the UK, celebrating 10 years of marriage (Fuzz and Carrie that is) and expanding our musical concept and family even further.

When the two of us first conceptualized Caravan of Thieves, almost eight years ago to the day, we had the vision of a roving gang of artists and an extended, interchangeable cast of players who we could perform with. Hence the name… Shortly after, however, we began working with two wonderful musicians, Ben Dean and Brian Anderson, and their talents, styles and dedication allowed us to look no further, though we’ve had a few brilliant guests along the way. But we recently learned, due to their other life commitments, our two fine friends would need to step down from being full time band members. As a result, we will be reopening the door to that extended family of musicians.

What you, our beloved freaky family, should expect to see is a variety of amazing instrumentalists, more of the same crazy Caravan show and fun, and an ever-evolving sound and lineup. For the 2016 winter tour, we are excited to introduce Nicole Scorsone (violin), who has toured with Bernie Worrell, River City Extension and Blind Pilot; Rich Zurkowski (upright bass), who has toured with Martin Sexton and Joe Louis Walker; and Dan Asher, also on upright bass. And because we have so many talented friends who play all kinds of instruments, the possibilities will be endless.

We’d like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Ben and Brian for the past seven years of great performances, hard work and a smashing good time! We’re seeing this as a positive transformation, because everyone knows in music, art and life, evolution is essential, and we are about to take some exciting steps forward with our Caravan of Thieves. Thank you for being with us on our continuing journey.

Happy Holidays and a Beautifully Freaky New Year!

Fuzz and Carrie
