In case you have been wondering, we’ve been writing a few songs, preparing to make a new album and chasing after the ice cream truck so far this summer. Typical stuff. How ’bout you? Having fun? Good, us too… And all this inspiration has led to a very exciting recording project we will keep you updated on as the summer rolls on but in the meantime, there are some exciting shows coming up in July and August. We’ll be making a run through the Midwest this month, lots of great music fests including our first jump over the pond to the UK, a return to some of our favorites like Four Corners Folk Festival in Colorado, some West Coast, etc… Of course keep checking the tour page and we’ll see you somewhere in the world this summer!

Good day, free lovin’ freaky family!
 
We are writing you a note from the woodshed of house Fuzz and Carrie. The past year or two has been very inspiring for us, getting to travel across the country, perform, create little communities of some of the boldest, most adventurous folks we ever did meet, sharing and making music with you all. It’s why we get up in the morning. But this winter, aside from a few Northeast shows, we have locked ourselves away to transfer some of this inspiration to the page, tape recorder, and so on… the idea is to get a new album out later this year. So stay tuned for more breaking news on that.
 
We are not saying we haven’t had some exciting moments already this year. All the shows have been well attended with some of the best singers, dancers and stompers money can buy. And we also had the opportunity to help a few friends and local businesses with a couple of fundraiser shows in January. Joining Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth (Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club) to benefit the Fairfield Theater Co and Fairfield Museum was a night to remember, as was the benefit for our friends Nina and Dan Salazar and Studio N111 who did our “Raise the Dead” and “Dead Wrong” videos.
 
This month and the months ahead we’ll have more shows around New England, up and down the East Coast, summer fests, our first UK tour and a big cross-country fall tour so keep us in your hearts and minds and spread the message… there’s always room for one more in our freaky family!

Greetings from New Orleans…

This year’s fall tour has been nothing short of an adventure and the excitement continues this month, not only with more shows, new music, and new clothes, but with the release of our latest video for our latest single “Dead Wrong.” It was shot this past September in Stafford Springs, CT with a little help from our talented friends Nina and Daniel Salazar of Studio N111/ Perro Loco Films (who also produced our “Raise the Dead” video). We all worked diligently from morning ’til night with an amazing cast and crew, local businesses pitching in lending us props, clothes, bikes, cars, etc… and at the end of the day we fleshed out the “Dead Wrong” story so we can now present to you the final edit. Earlier this year Fuzz and Carrie escaped to Kezar Lake, Maine with a couple of guitars and came back with the latest Caravan of Thieves single, “Dead Wrong.” Being amidst the eerie calm of the lake clearly set the tone for this haunting and swampy ballade, but the contrasting cheerful bounce and tongue-in-cheek use of death in the story gave way for playful violin lines, swinging guitars and bass and plenty of our signature junkyard percussion ensemble.

Once it was time to get in the studio, we decided to team up with veteran producer Steve Lunt, engineers Dave Darlington and Chris Sanchez and focus on the one song for a single release. Give it a listen and come hear us play it at a show this fall!
